When and duration. Over 6 weeks, meeting on Wednesdays 25 February – 1 April, at Fowlis Wester village hall from 7 - 8.30pm (https://w3w.co/streetcar.straw.drain)

What. We will be using the Embrace the Middle East Acts of Hope Lenten study guide. Each week it progressively asks questions of us, takes us into the experiences of the early believers as Luke records and looks at current day examples of Life in the Holy Lands.

Why. Embrace are and have a Christian attitude to people in need, of Christians, of all faiths and none whether they be Gaza, the Lebanon, Palestine, Israel or across the Middle East. Their example and support to stricken people is inspiring because of their Christian faith. Our prayer and our use of their material enable them through their partnerships to do more.

Meeting over food. We will start at 7pm with a choice of pizzas and salad with water or soft drinks and tea or coffee over our talking and discussion, finishing by 8.30pm

Starting. On Wednesday 25 February, those able to come will introduce themselves as much or little as you choose; it’ll be an ice-breaking and on we go. If you’ve been given one bring it with you or you will be given an Embrace booklet. You’ll see it is self-contained but encourages sharing and exploring ideas and experiences together, so if there are Wednesdays you can’t come you’ll be able to keep moving with the progress.

The message is that this course is not to create Christians, that’s not for us to do, it is to explore and strengthen our understanding and find out about the ordinary men and women who knew Jesus and move forward. They believed in him after his death at Easter and went on to spread the reality of God’s love as is described by Luke in the book Acts of the Apostles and as is witnessed by remarkably ordinary people in the Middle East today. If you’d like to be part of this sharing and moving forward everyone has their own talents and if this presses your button so be it, it’ll be great to have you aboard one way or another.

Signing up commits you to nothing but is to help get the food quantities right and to order enough booklets. Once we’ve started, you can, of course, come and join any week, but it may be more fulfilling to do so from the start. Even if just tantalised at this stage please contact Tim Carmichael by text on or with a call to 07906 135 203.
